Thanks to the Editors of Bride.ca, and to all you who voted to make my Engagement Photograph of Hannah & Joel #2 in Canada for 2012!
About the Picture & Session
This photograph was made on a wonderfully cool autumn Sunday last October on Parliament Hill in Ottawa with one of the coolest couples out there. Exactly one week before this picture was made, Hannah and Joel had reserved me for their May 2013 wedding and they wanted an engagement session right away - theirs would be the fourth and final Engagement Session for me that Sunday.
I've photographed over 400 weddings and the more I photograph the more unique each couple is to me. This is why I love engagement sessions, I get to see what they like to do, see if they are shy, or not shy, but most of all I get to see how they dance. By "dance" I mean that my job is to get them in sync with each other emotionally and physically so that the pictures I make, in that session and on their wedding day, captures their relationship without being stiff or contrived. I think that Hannah, Joel and I achieved this in this picture and in many others too. In this Engagement Session we made photographs at Major's Hill Park, Parliament Hill, and the Byward Market see the entire collection by clicking here.
