Travel Photography Advice Part 2 San Francisco

December 20, 2012  •  Leave a Comment

I grew up watching a lot of TV, one of my favourites was The Streets of San Francisco with Karl Malden and Michael Douglas. The city seemed so very romantic to me with so much to see that when I found out I was going to a conference there I examined maps to figure out all of the places I wanted to make photographs. And there were a lot, like the Golden Gate Bridge...

the Transamerica building

Haight Ashbury,

The Palace of Fine Arts,

a view of Alcatraz

and various downtown land marks

but how to do it all in one day?

1st, I booked a late flight out of the City. Second we arranged a four hour tour of the city in a hotel town car, that would bring us everywhere including Coit Tower, crossing the Golden Gate Bridge and our final destination The Airport.

If you do this you will be able to have your luggage with you all the time, see everything you want to see, not have to worry about parking or local driving laws (no left turns at intersections) and make it to the airport on time.

BTW, the man with the cigar is a tourist who asked me to take a picture for he and his wife, I agreed provided that he would pose for one of my pictures.
