Engagement Sessions do not need to be as traditional as they used to be. You can have your family pet with you, we can go to where you had your first date/kiss or to a favourite scenic location.
I have so many favourite engagement sessions and this is one of them with Telicia and Karson in Arnprior at the O'Brien theatre. We had made some portraits at a tree farm and had extra time to go into this wonderful town with so much character - it didn't hurt that the snow flakes were huge and drifted down slowly.
Then there is the perennial location for engagements - the Central Canada Experimental Farm at the Arboretum. It's nice because there are flowering trees in the spring and it is pet friendly. In the portrait below are Tima and Ramsey who brought along their little one for the session.
At the same time weather can be a challenge, but that's ok too. In the session below with Tima and Ramsey we were hit with a sudden downpour at Strathcona Park in downtown Ottawa. We were all soaking wet but made the best of it.
Engagement Sessions can also take place in Ottawa's Byward Market. In the pictures below you see Heather and Jean-Luc at Oh-so-Good where they had their first date - most restaurants in Ottawa are very agreeable to allowing you to make pictures.
For a touch of Ottawa you can also include the Peace Tower where Hannah and Joel made this session memorable and unique.
Or for something different make pictures in a car wash in Carp, like the ones I made with Aimee and Sean.
You can still have normal pictures that your parents would want to see, and they can be made all in the same one hour session.
